BH Civil Engineering Awarded Work on Eccles Substation

We are proud to share that BH Civil Engineering has been awarded a new contract for Eccles Substation, working in partnership with Luddon Construction and Hitachi as part of an important development for SP Energy Networks to extend and reinforce the transmission network.

Our team has been contracted to deliver a complete formwork, reinforcement and concrete package as well as groundworks, supplying all plant, labour and formwork directly to maintain full control over the quality, safety and delivery of the project.

This project plays a vital role in supporting the regions electrical infrastructure, connecting wind-generated power to the grid. Consisting of two sets of SCV Light® STATCOM and a synchronous condenser controlled centrally by the MACH™ control system, connected at a common electrical node. Bringing a first-of-its-kind power quality solution to balance the grid. This unique combination will maximise the future power system’s potential and provide increased system resilience.
